MINEMonitor is a database package that stores all of the instrumentation data and configurations from our SMART line of geotechnical instruments in one convenient location. The software consists of two components: a desktop version and a Palm ™ handheld version. Field readings can be transcribed with the Palm version, and then transferred to the desktop version via Hot-synch.

Data analysis is done using a pre-configured Excel™ spreadsheet. When you want to look at the data, including charts, an Excel session is started, and the data and configuration parameters for the current instrument are copied to the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet then performs the displacement, strain, and where applicable, load calculations for the instruments, and graphs the results in data versus time and distance plots for each parameter.
